Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids in Hawaii
I came into customs at Honolulu from China recently. They said the same. Aloha, welcome to Hawaii.
Assume the best and ask questions.

So, it sounds to me that both Rob's and HOTPE's girlfriend's experiences when going through US Customs at HNL was what one could surmise as being somewhat "enjoyable."

I wish you well on your new job randomq.

I hope that you learn to frequently fly as good as and as efficiently as George Clooney's portrayal of Ryan Bingham in the movie "Up in the Air!"

Last time I returned from Canada, the US border checkpoint was staffed by ICE instead of CBP.

I declared the beer, it was not confiscated, nor was I required to pay tariffs.

They did not search my device or vehicle.

Must be some kind of selective enforcement.

Was it Fosters ??
After they started brewing it up there nobody cared anymore.

Yes, I did notice the "a" little 'e, but how you can be a "pilipina" only 4 times a year?

Also, since "pilipina" is defined as "a female native or inhabitant of the Philippines, or a female person of Filipino descent," tell me little 'e, how did the yanking of those "pilipina's" in Maui, most in their underwear, some just allowed a towel as they were in the shower, all being yelled to have hands in the air and forced marched outside at gun point at the crack of dawn onto the front lawn of their home by ICE Agents make you feel?

And being that by your very definition, you are literally one of them?

To this Wisconsin born haole "rabid chick," I was initially outraged and to this day, I am even more outraged. Those 30 to 60 minutes of what those women went through that day, I would not wish upon anyone.

But I guess that shows your support of your fellow "pilipina" country women. As long as it isn't you, I guess it's, OK then?

"After they started brewing it up there nobody cared anymore."

I'd say it was after they started brewing Fosters in Fort Worth, Texas is when everybody stopped caring.

Well, speaking of the "devil:"

Honolulu airport launches new customs process for international arrivals

Snipped:

The program will photograph passengers using auto capture technology that uses facial recognition to confirm passenger identity.

The technology will be used on passengers arriving in Honolulu from international flights.

Cue Steely Dan:

I've seen your picture
Your name in lights above it
This is your big debut
It's like a dream come true
So won't you smile for the camera
I know they're gonna love it, Peg

Japanese immigration used this tech when I entered Haneda earlier this year. I think their system said they delete the photo after a certain period of time. If not, I look forward to seeing a poster of my AI likeness at the Shinkansen station the next time I return, hawking a can of Suntory, “The Gaijin’s Choice!”

https://www.cbp.gov/travel/biometrics/lo...s/airports

From the link:

Currently, CBP uses biometric facial comparison technology to process travelers entering the United States at 238 airports, including all 14 CBP Preclearance locations and 49 locations for international air departures. New industry partners focused on processing travelers exiting the United States are coming onboard each month, and the traveler feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

In my experience with this technology at various airports, I have found that it greatly speeds up the process.
