I was thinking more of traditional side-by-side duplexes, which easily extends into triplexes, quadplexes, and so forth with shared wetwalls, etc... A spaghetti lot could fit an entire block of row housing! Many such possible configurations of several separate living spaces that are all still one structure. Seems like developers are still having to play coy with the county (yes my two story building with only external stairs and separate entrances is totally a single-family dwelling - everyone loves to walk outside to go upstairs to the "wetbar" with the mismatched cabinets) but as that boundary keeps getting pushed, can see various high-density lots being plotted, dotted, and alloted.

Yes, I believe that would technically qualify as one “house” if it is all connected and under one roof. Real estate agents could advertise it as separate entrances for noisy teenagers coming and going. The built in study desks could be retrofitted with an induction stove, the small closet with a fridge. Hey Rocky! Watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat! Nothin’ up my sleeve! Here’s a new listing: Whether you’re looking to create a multi-generation compound, launch a small scale farm, or simply have extra space for guests, hobbies, or sustainability projects. How many units? (because what says sustainability like a having a kitchen in the building where you develop and design your low carbon plans for the future? No wasting time walking 50-100 feet to your other kitchen for lunch!)
lol - on the first image for that listing, if you look past the current duplicate double duplex up a block (to 18th?), there appears to be another duplicate double duplex. Oh Paradise Park, what would Joni Mitchell have to say - maybe one of those 20 acre lots can be used to a put up a pink hotel, a boutique, and a swingin' hot spot?

One of the double duplexes on Kaloli Drive is still listed for sale. Perhaps the recent meetings about their legality has concerned prospective buyers? Has anyone seen new double duplex construction started elsewhere in HPP?

A couple of HPP double duplexes have dropped on the market. If I recall correctly, the developers had touted this as creating another way for people to enter the housing market. At $1,250,000? Apparently the rental unit aspect of the homes without actual farming may be an issue as the realtor listing suggests many possibilities for these units, but ends with:
Buyer and agent to conduct their own due diligence and verify all uses, permits, and any potential occupancy. 13th Ave 19th Ave |
