What is it? Where is it?
#51
Clarifying question:
Are we limiting these What/Where locations to:
The Big Island?
ALL Islands within the State of Hawaii?
Anywhere in the world?

I would think the Big Island and the pic I posted is surely on it.

But of course it's Edge's call..

Big Island is big enough to hold plenty of mysteries.  Let’s keep it at that.
Puna is always preferable, but not required.

Actually, I figured if anyone knew this one it would be you. I imagine it has something to do with space. Btw, google image lookup thinks this new imagine is somewhere in Egypt. But no matter, it obviously is a hard one. Here's a more expanded view. Maybe a bit more of the terrain will help.

I especially like the radiating arms at the for points of the compass.

As to more clues.. it's in the Hamakua district. But that alone is more a diversion than one might imagine. And, omg I can't wait for someone to tell us what it is. I mean where is fine. It's somewhere and findable.. my originals are from google satellite view.. but what is it? And why?

Thanks. the latest image makes things a little clearer I think because the white rectangles are added by Google, right? That really threw me off. I originally thought they were real structures, but I don't think they are. My first thought after this was Four Corners but it isn't after checking maps because the Northern road doesn't been that way. Anyway, I'm sure Hamakua will help.

I found it!

Try playing with this Google Earth view - Google Earth View

If you click on the button on the lower left corner "2D" on and off you get a tilt view. You can pan around and zoom in and out with it.

Also, Bellingcat Open Street Map says it is a "Military Installation" and that's it. No other info.

I'm going to say the white markings on the circles are either very short structures or painted on as there is little to no shadows being cast from them.

I also wonder what is the striped paved square with various buildings to the left of the circle structure? If you look close on the diagonal roadway, there appears to be a "fake" car on either end.

And then due North - appears a rather long narrow "runway" of some sort - outlined with white dotted lines/buildings?

At any event what any of this is I haven't a clue. When Barney saw it, he yiped and ran under the bed and has not come out from under it yet! We're all now doomed!

Did leilanidude identify the correct location?

Let us know.
If so, then leilanidude or TomK, first come, first serve.

Driving from Mackenzie Park to Pohoiki, and then attempting to continue past, you would hit this dead end.  Great.photo spot for visiting family and friends. Smile

That's the last place I would have looked.

19°36'40"N 155°36'07"W

I have no idea what it is, but I suspect it's related to the military. Best guess is that they blow it up and see how effective it is on the outer objects.

Kaphoho. If you want to buy a photo of it rather than get one free on PW, you can. A bargain at $375 or a special offer of $299 by doing an unspeakable act.

I stand corrected. What's the unspeakable act for $299? I'm tempted.
Certainty will be the death of us.
