#1
I believe these to be local - interesting as they are invasive species in Florida

The species of lionfish (Pterois volitans) in Florida is not a Hawaiian native, though there are lionfish species in Hawaii (Dendrochirus barberi & Pterois radiata).
Info on the FL invsaive species & Florida derby:
http://www.invasivespeciesinfo.gov/aquat...fish.shtml

The lionfish derby is new to Florida but the fish has been there almost 20 years. The derbies are much like the 'Kill Roi" derbies here, only you can eat the invasive (although a tasty fish, the roi here can have ciguaterra, and are usually not consummed)
