Are Yurts a legal habitable structure on Big I
#54
Cool, Dobanion! I'd love to check out what you come up with! There have been many great variations applied to yurt structures in the last 100 years. Most hard sided round structures are a variation of a yurt, considered to be what we in the industry call a 'Panel Yurt'. Multi-faceted homes are a panel yurt. It has to do with the roof design and the use of tension to create a post free, large, open space.

Hangin' Loose is a great yurt retreat, with a hilarious and witty name for a nudist camp, ha! We went in a few years ago and took some pictures. I've heard good things about the Banana Boys too. It's always interesting when we're asked for recommendations of places to stay in a yurt in our area. Those are the only two places I know of on the Hilo side! Each have... certain tastes!

I crack up when people log into a thread that clearly states what it's about and try to shut people down because they don't want to read about it anymore... Just happened on another thread too. Strange and kind of funny. Handled well though.
