Slab penetration for sewer

Getting ready to order our steel building kit, and when discussing the slab penetrations with the supplier, they recommended routing the sewer through the wall instead of the slab to protect from the difficulty of broken pipes due to an earthquake. Has anyone here used this method of plumbing their slab on grade house?
