From the TSA FAQ's:
"Is TWIC an acceptable form of ID at an airport screening checkpoint?
Yes, the TWIC card is an approved government issued photo ID."

I totally agree with you there...but on my last trip to the BI, I had just gotten my TWIC the week before and just "wanted" to try it out, and was denied unless I had a state ID. So stupid, I know...I mean it's issued by the TSA for heaven's sake! It has my fingerprints, picture, and even my retina scanned into the chip...go figure. I guess I just use it for work then
