Lava rock wall
#11
Good advice on the pedestrian gate. I'm pondering that one (it always boils down to budget). :-)

The latest on the wall...

One side (about 250 ft) is about done. It is looking good and very integrated into the environment.

Does anyone have any advice on whether it is ok to use the lava boulders (pahoehoe) that are scattered by the oceanfront?

The contractor asked if I had a problem with it. I mentioned that I would think about it. Is there any drawback with using rocks that are moist with salt mist? Is that rock less dense that rock from inland?

I suspect it is fine but wonder if anyone had experience with this.
