If you owned a medical center, would you have a doctor manage it?
If I was on the board, I would follow hiring proceedures.
If I owned the medical center, I would do whatever I wanted. But with the required interactions between myself and patients, doctors, other employees, medicare, medicaid, insurance... I'd probably be out of business in no time at all if I went my own way - - and suffer the consequences.
Not the county. They just raise my taxes for their mistakes.
