Grafted trees will flower and fruit much faster than seed grown, but it is not unusual at all for a first-time flowering tree to not make a single fruit the first time it flowers. Has happened many times with my first time flowering trees. But it is a good sign because usually the next season you will have fruit. This happened with my finger lime tree. It produced flowers and tiny fruits shortly after I got it, but then all the fruit fell off. Following year however, it it producing tons of finger limes!
