"...., or the county could reach the debt ceiling that could affect its bond ratings. "
A reasonable principle is that when a reporter relies on a double conjecture ( "could"..."could", above ) as the substantive basis for a "news article" what they are actually doing is better described as an opinion piece. And this women's opinion of Billy has been well documented by her oeuvre over the past year. The WHT/Trib needs a better editor, especially when a reporter is on a crusade.
As an example of just one of her canards, earlier in this thread are various references to the use of a P-card for prostitution. Really!!! What is that based on ?
Well Ms Lauers early and continued description of the (gasp) "Korean bar" and the illegal activity (prostitution) associated with it by constant reference and insinuation. Jeez....go to this same bar tonight with $100 and see how much action you get. Now go on the Internet with the same $100 and see how much that will buy right here on our island.
Enough with the sanctimony and scurrilous repetition of the same damn "surfboards...prostitution....public corruption...theft". All of these allegations are just that....alleged. But please, continue talking to yourselves and enjoying your self-righteousness. Just don't take the "reporters" double conjecture and pull a chicken little on the county's finances.
Ms Lauer has accomplished her mission by taking a workplace screwup and turning it into a public scourging.
