Just out of curiosity, what do you plan to feed the fish? When I crunched the numbers a few years ago the dollars in vs protein out was a money pit. It seemed that if you can't raise some of the food yourself, the break-even point existed further out in the project using the pond water for aquaculture. Though, I also understand that some things don't fit into a spreadsheet, like the hobby or relaxation of it.
"Any one know a source for food grade pond liners? I assume HD is not going to be an option." None of the literature I absorbed seemed to take that into consideration, however: "We provide our customers with the best quality water tank liners available in the State of Hawaii. We can have these liners custom made to fit any size or shape of water tank. We also provide ultra-violet resistant liners for exposed uses such as aquaculture and ponds." http://islandcatchment.com/Liners.html (in HPP)
ETA: You can contact the carpet install places to get free used carpet for putting under your liner so the rocks etc don't damage it.
