I consider Prime to be nothing more than another way to sell you more.
I do not want the Prime "perks" and would never buy them.
I did the 30 day free Prime and still didn't use any of them.
One thing I did notice, though.
Nothing gets ready for shipment any sooner, Prime or not.
But, after order sits in limbo for a week or more, you may get the HI-AK-PR equivalent of "2 day" shipping.
I found that Prime didn't really make all that much difference in how quickly my orders arrive.
Because, most of the time you wait for it is spent waiting for it to be shipped.
Where I really get irate with Amazon is when they screw up and short the shipment, saying it has been shipped but hasn't been.
Then, they cancel the item and give you a refund.
I didn't want the refund.
What I want is for them to fix their screw up and send the item.
I just reordered one of these types of items 2 months later.
I am still fuming.
My latest order had a large item that was shipped UPS from the East coast, 2 days to get it shipped.
It arrived by UPS in 3 days.
The rest of the order came from the West coast.
4 days after the 1st item arrived they shipped the balance of the order, wont be here before next Tuesday.
That is pretty typical of my Amazon experience.
Prime would have made no difference.
If I was in a hurry for anything I order from Amazon, I'd get it locally, if any way possible.
My only consolation is that I have done much ordering of things for delivery in AK cities and the bush.
It takes however long it takes. Nothing can change that.
