And coincidentally, only one telescope, the TMT, has the capabilities that none of the other 328 working telescopes have. It's a good fit, don't you think gypsy, for the one unique telescope to be built on the one unique mountain?
Specifically, the committee acknowledged the need to have unique capabilities in studying the evolution of the intergalactic medium and the history of star formation in our galaxy and its nearest neighbors.
