Hawaii has become the first state to align itself with the Paris Climate Accord, when Gov. Ige signed two bills into law yesterday:
1) expands strategies and mechanisms to reduce greenhouse gas emissions statewide in alignment with the principles and goals adopted in the Paris agreement.
2) establishes the Carbon Farming Task Force within the Office of Planning to identify agricultural and aquacultural practices to improve soil health and promote carbon sequestration in the state’s agricultural and aquacultural sectors.
"In this day and age, it is time for states and governors to lead."
Also noted, County mayors have pledged their support for the Paris Accord:

“We do this thing not because it is easy, but because we thought it would be easy.”
