King TomK,
Why don't you do some homework and answer your own questions?
Many of the burials were done in secrecy because that's the way the Hawaiians did these things.
The lake on the summit was being used for various reasons long before the observatory road.
Hawaiians also used parts of the summit of Mauna kea for there own practices, guidance and gain of knowledge before the road was built.
The Hawaiian community shared the summit with (A) telescope under tough economical times after a tsunami washed over the island. Since then the Summit of Mauna Kea has turned into an astronomers Disney land at the expense of Mauna Kea and the Hawaiian people. The TMT is way to big and promises to bring millions more disrespecting tourists to the summit which may further ruin and contaminate what was once a peaceful, calm and sacred place for many. jmo's again King TomK.
