Gas stations make approximately 7 cents as their profit, some are oil company owned, some are privately owned. The privately owned stations like Woodland or Minit Stop sell other items with a higher markup so they can stay in business.
Oil companies in their role as an oil producer make about $2.00 per gallon, then another $.24 as the refiner.
