What happened to the coqui frogs?

I was once temporarily deafened by a coqui. I was at a friends place where they had an elevated lanai. I was searching around their washer/drier for a pesky coqui who seemed to be hiding under the washer. I finally noticed a floor drain nearby and put my ear down to it just as the bugger let fly. Man are they loud.
