After five days in Hilo, the crews of Hōkūleʻa and Hikianalia are forecasting desirable weather conditions for departure to Tahiti tomorrow. The canoes are expected to depart Palekai in Hilo before noon on Monday, April 18.
Your well wishes and aloha are very much appreciated and we look forward to having you with us in spirit over the coming weeks. Aloha!
If they set sail when expected the ships should be off the East Hawaii coast Monday afternoon. Last voyage they were visible near the horizon from the cliffs in HPP.
