2022 Hurricane Season
#6
Thanks Obie.
I read this last week: "Large swells generated by Darby are expected to affect portions of the Hawaiian Islands over the weekend," the National Hurricane Center (NHC) wrote on Friday.

The County of Hawaii also closed parks over the weekend due to anticipated swells from Darby, but as you noted and NOAA reported, the big waves actually originated in the South Pacific.

The next storm is Estelle currently near Mexico:
NHC said little change in strength is expected through Tuesday, but a steady weakening is then expected to follow for the next few days.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles from the center, while tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 105 miles.
