Our founding fathers overthrew a government that wanted to keep them from having guns and fighting back.
OK.
Hypothetical Puna-centric or Hawaii Island wide question.
Gun permits are given out to everyone who wants one. The County government becomes so unbearable, so intolerable that Big Island gun owners decide to fight back as the 2nd Amendment allows, and overthrow the mayor, county council, and all government workers. Clandestine meetings are held somewhere in deep jungle, far back in the Acres and a plan is put forward, a plan that of course not everyone agrees with, so they disperse and decide to attack on their own personal terms. FREEDOM!
The mayor and DMV see a crowd, or rather individual crowds gathering in the parking lot, milling about, but with weapons drawn.
What happens? The Disorganized Militia thinks they can fight the tyrannical powers that be by taking a few captives and occupy the seat of government, then install themselves as Don't Tread On Me libertarian rulers of Hawaii Island.
What I think would really happen is someone at the County picks up a phone and calls the well regulated police, the well regulated Army at Pohakuloa, the Civil Air, National Guard at the airport equipped with Apache Helicopters. And that will be a decisive and hasty end to the ragtag gun tottin' beer guzzlin' insurectionists. Can some guy hiding in the underbrush with his pee shooter take out an Apache, armed with machine guns, and if that doesn't hit the mark, a not even well aimed missile? Because close counts.
Does anyone here think Hawaii Island citizerns with a few guns can out shoot the trained and armed militia stationed on island? And citizens fighting back against our government is a good reason gun permits should be handed out like trophys for all who participate at a walk-run event, for almost everyone who shows up?
OK.
