Note that I mentioned no names in my original thread, I argued that I thought it was wrong that anyone could delete a thread and posts from others and asked for opinions.Let's test my memory, shall we?
The examples you mention still doesn't convince me it's right that a regular PW member should have the ability to delete a post by another member. Kalianna's solution to that is to have everyone who doesn't want that to happen to copy or take a screenshot of their own posts. Quite frankly, that is unreasonable and adds a burden to anyone here who wants to post in a thread with an expectation their post will remain in PW unless they delete it themself - unless, of course, they say it's alright if their post is deleted by someone else, to which both you and kalianna are agreeable. However, it seems not everyone else is.
Do you agree that you referred to the sunset thread and trolls?
When Kalianna posted an opinion in your thread did you remind Kalianna that they had also agreed 'elepaio was a troll?
Didn't Kalianna mention that they had deleted a thread in the past?
Didn't you say that Kalianna owed an apology to whoever had posted in that deleted thread?
Keep in mind I don't have direct quotes, but I believe I remember the basic gist of the thread. I'm not trying to change your opinion about having the ability to delete threads. You asked for opinions and the first two responses you got didn't agree with your opinion. You should be able to easily answer my questions since you have a screenshot, correct?
If Rob has an issue with folks deleting their own threads, then he can address it. It is a rare occurrence. And we both know there will never be a consensus about it. I suppose another option would be to only post in threads where you trust the OP not to delete if you have those concerns. BTW, I see you posted in the rainbow thread...now you can post about vertical rainbows. That is, if you trust me not to delete the thread.
So...to sum up your position on OP's deleting threads, your opinion on it has morphed a bit. Initially, you thought an OP should apologize to all posters in a deleted thread, then you thought an OP should get permission from all posters before deleting a thread, then it just became selfish and un-American. Do I have that correct?
