Big Island Organizations & Programs Losing Funding
"Completed in 1917, the complex originally served as a courthouse, post office and custom house. Other tenants included the Immigration Bureau, Agricultural Extension Service, Weather Bureau and Internal Revenue Service.

The building now serves only as a post office."

All of those other functions have been relocated years ago. Does the Post Office need that large building and don't you think having parking is something a post office might need ?

Do you think the government is just going to abandon the building and walk away from it ?

HPP couldn't take it apart and move it brick by brick because it's reinforced concrete. Can't imagine what kind of condition a reinforced concrete building would be in after 100 pluse years.
