You can generally buy and close on a property with a cesspool up until the applicable legal deadline—January 1, 2050 for most cesspools—provided the cesspool is not in a high-priority area that requires earlier conversion (such as Priority 1 zones, which must be converted by 2030, or Priority 2 zones by 2035)
