Obie - Well, we don't do that kind of stuff here. I looked at your link to protests close to me and no one has signed up.
lol - you don't need to RSVP (don't know anyone who does). It's a protest, not a formal ball.
Obie - That kind of stuff goes on in the big cities.
Ah yes, only in the big cities like Dover (pop. 13,000) and Steubenville (pop. 18,000). Going to Hilo must be like visiting Metropolis when you're on island by comparison.
You're telling me, that on June 14th, the 250th Anniversary of Washington being nominated by the Congress in Philadelphia to lead the newly formed Continental Army against the tyranny of King George III, you're going to skip out on the chance to gather on the green in New Philadelphia with your fellow citizens, including the League of Women Voters, for a march, potluck, and local fund raiser? Wave some flags, share concerns and food, and show some patriotism and care for the country,? Guess maybe it's something like what that old Jimmy Stewart movie says - retirement is wasted on the wrong people. Or maybe it was: there's no place in this country for graft, or greed, or lies, or compromise with human liberties...
I'll be sure to wave plenty of flags and signs on the Bayfront for the both of us Obie - even grab an extra large bento afterwards to commemorate your absence. Someone's gotta do their part and take up the slack. ;)
