Their website is saying "temporarily" closed:
Pahoa restaurant - Smashdaddys808.com
Also have never eaten there myself, but my son and grandson did a ways back
My son said after their 2nd visit that it was like each worker there was an "independent" contractor - and in direct competition with each other. My grandson said the food went from GREAT to what Barney does in the yard 3 times a day from their first to second visits.
I am not understanding the structure of this restaurant company. The name "Smash Daddy's" is all over the internet and all over the mainland in various forms and even as a Food Truck operation in some parts, so I don't know if this is a franchise operation or a local Big Island only operation, but its ashamed it did not work out.
I've found that another place for a good burger is the Countryside Cafe in Keaau Shopping Center. (Old Charlie's)
They did have morning only hours for a while but now are open all day - and actually quite good food and reasonably priced. And good social media reviews too!
