misinterpreted the post to actually be about Hawaii
…
allowed as long as your post leans hard left.
Would you be affected by this news if you were a coffee grower (how many on Big Island?) or a housekeeping manager at a hotel, time share, resort (how many on Big Island?) or a worker at those businesses, because even if you have all your papers in order you may be asked to work a double shift, or no days off to fill in for someone who disappeared?
A knee jerk, ping pong change in “policy” affects large numbers of people on our island.
If a hurricane forms in the eastern Pacific, moves into the central Pacific, should we wait to discuss the forecast until it’s actually about Hawaii? When we already know hurricanes in that path have caused massive destruction to the islands in the past? When Iniki turned hard right into Kauai do we describe it in political terms, in dismissive language? Or recognize our island neighbors are hurting, people are harmed and need help?
