Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids in Hawaii
I just have a problem with sensationalized reporting.

I have a problem with desensitized reactions, and the inability of people to recognize the bait and switch from “worst of the worst” to being hunky dory with including among “the worst” Hawaii coffee farmers, Kahului teachers, and teenage girls at the Honolulu airport.  And fine with inciting a vague undefined fear among some who reside in Hawaii who are so far from “the worst” criminals that they have never even received a parking ticket, or jaywalking citation.  Like students at UHH who want nothing more than to work hard, educate themselves, and become contributing members of society.  Who already have to worry about assignment deadlines, applications for student loans, tuition payments, and what they can afford to eat while in school.  Do they deserve to have a sword dangle over their heads which threatens to cut off all they’ve worked for up until this point?  Don’t they already have enough to worry about?

If you paid attention in high school English class you might have read the warning:
“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”
― George Orwell, 1984
