I attempted to find out more about the DMSP satellites this morning and here’s what our AI overlords had to say:
ChatGPT: insists DMSP was decommissioned in 2019. I say insists as I posed my question in three different ways.
Google Gemini: says DMSP are still operating, but data to NOAA will cease either the end of June, or July 2025.
So good luck, we have a system that will connect you to every truth, every lie, and a multiple choice selection of facts. Which is substantially different from a multiple choice selection of comments and opinions. In the past I never had too much trouble separating facts from “facts” but the system is changing.

“We do this thing not because it is easy, but because we thought it would be easy.”
