Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids in Hawaii
...Most fentanyl is believed to come into the country through legal ports of entry, while cocaine is often moved in boats

I imported products from overseas during the ‘90’s & ‘00’s. Often enough the boxes would arrive at Maui Customs with holes punched through them. At one point when the contents were seriously damaged I asked them what caused this? The agent explained the quantity of drugs entering the US through traditional shipping methods was so great, their method of inspection was to stack boxes in a warehouse. The lead worker walked ahead with a hammer and rebar. He pounded holes into random boxes, occasionally punching through illegally packed bags of drugs. Another inspector followed with a sniffer dog that would alert them to the presence of drugs.

If the government really wanted to get rid of the largest number of drug importers they know where to look, and it’s not a guy from Mexico with a backpack.
