Not only did USPS deliver the package to the wrong address (a mile away), but could never retrieve the box from the wrong recipient. They (USPS) knocked on the erroneous recipient's door and was told to go away, not just once but twice. "Possession is 9-10th da law on da Big Island."
Wife is more persistent than me or HiloJulie. After months of waiting, wife received a refund for the value of the package as well as the postage costs. The provisional hire probably told the USPS examiner, "Why the street names on the Big Island all sound the same?"
I must say you are quite the cornucopia of conflicting arguments.
You took little 'e's compliment of the USPS, including his refund and "topped" it with your complaint of your package being lost.
At least you did get the $100.00 plus postage costs refunded, as is the way it works when a package is lost/misdelivered, but I do admit the "provisional" hire slam was a good one, but it does make one wonder why the USPS won't hire enough full time LOCAL workers who know the street names like the back of their hand.
As for the guy who did get your package, maybe he felt it was none of their business. Maybe he felt the USPS was being invasive of his privacy. Or maybe he felt it was a scam.
