I hope the officer who did this is treated the same as if a civilian kills a police officer. After all, if a civilian kills a K9, it is  considered the same as killing an actual human officer.

He'll probably get away with a slap on the wrist.  It's scary to me that there's a police officer working with the public that obviously is an idiot.
