Edge - A movable feast (with fish), a la Hemingway in Paris...
1920's fresh oysters and local wine seems to fit the bill - burning coal dust for warmth, probably not so much (thankfully here we have plenty of free thermal sources both above and below so no need to flee when the seasons change)
kalianna - This looks like a job for Ikaika Marzo.
In terms of running some heavy equipment at Pohoiki (better get his day rate and multiple by 365 for next year's bill ;) or in terms of arranging a moveable feast, maybe by sea or in coordination with a mechanical bull? (is whatever feast planned for there actually moving forward at all?)
Pohoiki probably needs more of a daily community effort. Want to swim? 30 mins of shifting rock and sand per person is the real cost - bit of exercise to loosen up before relaxing in the all natural hot tub. Given the progress demonstrated by just a handful of people, and the hundreds of people there on the weekends, such an approach may actually fit the budget and be sustainable.
Gotta try and keep up though as the new berm keeps a growing:
