"There was an alternative forum made for those who didn't like PW. I forgot the name, but it was pretty successful for a few months. I even took some of them up on a tour of the Mauna Kea Observatories (something I offered here decades ago, which was never taken up). Then the lunatics took over, and the site quickly devolved into someone posting pornographic cartoons and getting people wound up in an attempt to intimidate a particular person."
