Most expensive groceries in the country...
#49
There are two types of people in the world...
Those who can do 6th grade math and those that can't? What with all these dividing lines being drawn, probably worth brushing up on middle school geometry and geography as well for those that skipped or forgot it.

large amounts of S.N.A.P. fuels it. Free money tends to do that.
I'd say something about correlation doesn't equal causation, but as pointed out there's not even correlation, so maybe it's more along the lines that fact-free self-serving narratives don't equal reality? Hawaii has the highest cost of living of any state, across almost all categories, including groceries.

"Hawaii’s cost of living index is 193.3, the highest in the nation, meaning the cost of living in the state is almost twice the average. The state is also the most expensive in the U.S. across all metrics except healthcare [ETA: 2nd only to Alaska]. Hawaii’s housing costs are three times the national average, with a typical single-family home averaging $730,511. Renters pay an average of $2,399 for a two-bedroom apartment in the state. Groceries also cost 50% more than the national average, as most goods have to be shipped to the island."

Probably worth considering how to address the affordability crisis instead of claiming it's all a hoax, if the goal is to actually help people and not just oneself. (more than a billion dollars in personal enrichment would pay for more than a few musubi for everyone, but I'll let those without "Friday brain" sort out the math involved for themselves)
