Wao nahele wahine - Kane obviously struck a nerve in you, Ironyak.
lol, no, not really. I do find his current performative silly stupidity to be entertaining though, much better than him pretending to understand basic chemistry or virology.
If you are trying to infer either of us engages in substance abuse now or in the past, you are incorrect.
Ah so you're both trying to be comedians now. Many of us have 17+ years of experience to draw on, so you tell me another, and I'll tell you the one about when the cat's away... ;)
eta: Your assumptions that Kane was: "not caring about the potential impacts if he was wrong doesn't appear to be wisdom, just callous disregard for human health and well-being" is also incorrect. Maybe you're the one who needs to stop "making up stuff about people and things you don't know or understand."
But that's his current schtick, or at least the routine he prompted his AI chat bot to post under his name. Again, he could always speak for himself, but refuses to. Why?
HJ - don't think it is fair to say that my purchase of Starlink makes me a supporter of this anti-democratic far-right defender of non-consensual nude image generation, including images of underage individuals, with my money.
But that's what you're doing - you are funding the anti-immigrant, far right, white supremacist, pedophilic billionaire each and every month. You don't get to make up stories about how your money is spent once it's turned over - you let Musk make that choice and that includes him promoting far right candidates and underage non-consensual nude images.
even you would have to agree that the new dino juiced ones made today would be much better for the environment and all than those old ones.
So again, there's the embodied energy problem, that is those new objects take energy to create, and when I only use my emergency tools a couple times a year, it would take many, many, years to recoup the energy and carbon spent creating them as compared to simply using the tools I already have. We talked about this issue here but I'll paraphrase in case you didn't read or understand it the first time:
While electric tools like EVs (charged on solar) are great, they still require a lot of energy to manufacture, and we use our current tools so little, so the math isn't quite there yet for replacement. Energy-returned-on-energy-invested (EROEI) or embodied energy considerations are key to getting at total physical costs beyond just monetary or operation costs.
I am glad to hear the new electric versions are up to the Puna tasks though - will look to them when it's time for a replacement (if my current tools don't outlast me and gas doesn't keep spiraling higher and higher thanks to the broad electorate's embrace of incompetent authoritarians ;)
I'd say to better understand me is to consider me the female version of Bill Maher.
So you're Islamaphobic, give a pass to Kavanaugh for his alleged sexual assaults, and justify violence against women, etc, etc? You seem to support some strange men...
I think you might need to swing your pendulum more towards the center, as a lot of what you say, even if just to me and a few others tends to be stuck on far crazy left side.
I'm not real concerned with satisfying the expectations of centrist lib boomers - y'all get equal blame for the state of the world as being clearly unable to tackle the issues at hand. Bernie is the obvious avatar for a leftist party in the US, and for the first time people in the US are not becoming more conservative as they age, with Gen X maintaining their liberal views and Millenials actually becoming more progressive as they age. So as the dinos continue to die off and release their strangle hold on electoral politics, there will be a leftward shift in my lifetime (as long as we still get to have elections and don't have to take it to the streets)
TomK - I haven't checked, but I suspect that https://punaweb.org/forum/showthread.php?tid=17412 is the most viewed thread on PW.
Nope, it's currently 4th, after that murder in Kalapana and the TMT controversies. Keep at it though - maybe can eclipse the TMT threads if the project is actually dead.
