In reply to this:
HJ - Yeah. Good thing the American taxpayer is giving them billions of dollars to send 4 people to circle the moon. But yeah, my 40.00 bucks a month for my new Starlink is just beyond the pale.
Taxpayers are not willingly giving them their money like you are. Making that choice to willingly give support to the oligarch pedophiles, even when other locally based options are available, is the difference.
As for section 230, was indeed at play. Big time. Was used as the initial defense ... So maybe not as informed as you thought you were when making your opinion?
The fact that you can't tell that I and the judge are saying the same thing is concerning. Section 230 only protects big tech from lawsuits based on posted content, where these lawsuits were based on design features, so section 230 was not in play. That's why the related articles keep using words like "circumvent" and "route around" the section 230 protections. You're willingness to double and triple down on your hot take instead of just doing a bit more reading of the sources provided by those more in the know just leaves you looking more than a bit foolish.
But noting my wee hour additions kind of means you have clearly spent an inordinate amount of time following me. I am wondering if maybe I am being stalked?
Actually, I looked at Punaweb in the evening and said, nah, it's a big wide world out there with plenty of other things to see and do, and went and read a book (gotta find out how those moon anarchists are going to make themselves a better world). When I checked the next day you had added even more extreme takes to many of your prior points.
I also see, by your posts, that you find whining online to be a significant benefit to you instead of doing something about it. Right? Good for the goose, good for the gander thing? Projection?
Oh, whinging is usually step one, but then it's best to take other steps to actually address the issues. That's what the other many hours of the day are for when not online.
Yak: Build your housing, and help your neighbors build theirs, put together your solar and catchment systems, and help your neighbors do the same. Share knowledge and exchange fruits, veggies, livestock, and labor outside of any monetary framework and somehow people get education, housing, food, water, and electricity regardless of what the politicians do or don't do. Puna make so much of this so easy to do it's like second nature for many of us here.
Since I have done, do and will continue to do the same things, I can't possibly disagree with you here!
So you're an anarchist then comrade? ;) It's always funny how people get hung up on labels like progressive, leftist, or anarchist but when you describe your goals and labors - helping everyone obtain food, housing, health care, and education - and all of a sudden many of them are on board. The direct action involved from raising awareness, to helping file for benefits, to pushing for legislation, to volunteering with Food Banks or Habitatate for Humanity, to showing up to help install a solar system or catchment tank and other forms of mutual aid is all that really matters IMO regardless of what you call it.
Gobbledygook. No response offered.
You inability to understand the Wachowskis or Baudrillard is an indictment of your lack of comprehension, not their writings.
In addition to being just more gobbledygook, what possible knowledge, education or experience would you have in determining "lawyer speak?"
My professional background put me at the interface between biotech companies, their contracts between one another, and the FDA.
Besides, painting a group of people broadly for any method of grouping is such a common idiom meaning to describe an entire group using overgeneralized, sweeping statements, often ignoring individual differences and specific details. It typically implies unfairly lumping people together, often with negative connotations based on political, social, or age-related stereotypes, rather than treating them as individuals.
You are a boomer, by definition, given your age. So is Rob, and Edge, and others. As such all y'all are reps for your generation along with many others and their collective voting record, which is what I talking about, regardless of how any one individual voted. Much like you said "HECO exists because the voters allow it", many of the current challenges exist because the voters have allowed it, a majority of which are boomers because of demographics. Them's just the facts ma'am.
Can't disagree at all. The whole point is that the world is not going to go from fossil fuel to 100% pure clean energy overnight. Baby steps. Going from belching tons of carbon to pounds of carbon, while not ideal, is still better. Until that "miracle cure" just starts one Monday morning.
Baby steps can be yet one more renewable project in solar, wind, geothermal, etc, not sipping fossil fuels instead of doing shots by the barrel and claiming you don't really drink anymore.
Figured you would be sucking the taxpayer sap's teat!
You'd be wrong, again.
Well, I did not respond to the other possibilities, outside of being happy (see below) in that list as none of it pertains to me. Including being drunk or stoned.
If they don't pertain to you then why do you keep cherry-picking them from the list and trying to say I'm claiming they do?
Never been a damsel in distress. I do find it comical to be honest. Just like the addiction of carbon belching, the male chauvinist seemingly never goes away either.
Then why all the "I'm treated so unfairly, why doesn't someone stand up for me" dramatics?
Again, that projection from ya Yak! But I know, its OK for you, just not for me!
I'm not the one complaining about how hard it is to read long posts - doesn't bother me in the least, even with plenty of emojis. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You're the one who has respectively said ALL.
Again, actually point me to where I said ALL... I wait again.
Glad you came back. In hindsight, I probably should have never gone to school, never taken a job that required me to fly all over the place belching carbon left and right, and instead, just been a hippy (the OG boomer hippy) and been a homeless bum when some irate city kicked me out and sent to Hilo on a one way ticket, where I could have wheeled my suitcase to the SNAP office and walked out with my new EBT card and lived off the other saps who work and pay taxes. And instead of buying the properties we now own in the Acres, I could have just squatted there and hope no one called the SWAT Team on me!
That's one way to skin the cat, somewhat popular in Puna although with more communal living arrangements than squatters (housing crisis strikes again), and would lead to less carbon being emitted which is actually the longest lasting legacy for most of our lives. Maybe you missed an opportunity?
"Man is condemned to be free; because once thrown into the world, he is responsible for everything he does. It is up to you to give [life] a meaning" - JP Sartre, again.
Who said I don't like PunaWeb or PunaWebbers? Outside of you. As for "hate posting," well what do you expect from me? I am a boomer after all. Remember? But then, what specifically am I "hate posting" about?
Few of us toss some code and pics back and forth to see what creative options are possible during the upgrade glitch, randomq even invites to join in, you complain about the "blinking flashing neon-colored pages", repeatedly. Many people take issue about your approach to conversing the community here, you complain that people don't like you "no matter what I say", repeatedly. On and on... you seemed to have adopted a "fuk y'all are haters" attitude, but have you stopped to consider that you may have a roll in all this?
Anyhow, something to think about - hope you had a nice drive and Kona-side protest. Enjoy your time with your family.
