Costco. Great quality, even greater (low) prices. Then a slice of pizza for a buck or two. Fortunately if you arrive needing glasses you won’t see the prices on the 90” TVs on the way in. And the giant warehouse racks block your view on the way out.
Now that is an excellent idea HOTPE. The only possible downside I can see, is unlike some of us "forward thinking" and proactive Punatiks who have done as much as we can to lower our own carbon footprint and have as one of our choices, even at a personally significant financial cost, bought an EV or Hybrid vehicle, and even better if another step to lower our own carbon footprint is if we have invested in solar power and can recharge our EV or Hybrid at home, (Welcome to the "green side" terracore!) and as such, a nice drive over the Saddle to the Cosco, and possibly even plugging in while at Costco, that would leave such a minimal carbon footprint versus those who may still be driving decade plus older "devil excrement" belching vehicles, no doubt most of them not having been maintained in any regular fashion, chugging out their poison all the way to Costco and back to Puna for a pair of cheap prescription glasses. The money us EV or Hybrid vehicle owners save on gas alone will even pay for the new pair of glasses. Maybe even two pair.
And since its Costco, which is owned by institutional investors, your money is not going to any one billionaire, but to teacher and construction trades pension funds, nonprofit universities and charities, insurance company investments and so on that have invested their money into the stock that owns Costco.
However, as for needing glasses and not being able to see the price tags on those 90" flat screens on the way in, hopefully, they did not drive themselves regardless of the type of car they drive, but then again, poor eyesight is probably not a big disqualifier for driving a car for most Puna drivers anyways.
