Big Island Organizations & Programs Losing Funding

Perhaps we can focus on whether there is something to be done to counteract Hilo losing another research facility?

There were maps created when ROD started spreading.  So the spread could be tracked.  Will that be lost?  Or buried in an inaccessible file with CO2 measurements?

I'd love to focus on that!

About the only quick answer I can come up with is that the State step in and take it over. But how then does the State get the dollars to pay for that? Without cutting something else or raising taxes. 

Or, maybe, Mr. Benioff, are you listening? 

But then, if nothing can be done, in the short term, can it be recovered eventually in the long term, even with unlimited funding from any source?
