ROD spread IS being tracked by the state. Tom is OK with focusing on whether there is something to be done about Hilo losing another research facility.
I'm fairly pessimistic about the future of Ohia on the Big Island. For example, the stretch of F road in Hawaiian acres that joins this subdivision to Ainaloa used to be a beautiful example of healthy, native forest, rich in Ohia and devoid of invasive species. Now most of the ohias appear to be dead.
Volcanoes Park seems to be holding their own with the disease. It's hard to believe this is simply due to the voluntary shoe cleaning stations in a few locations.
