Big Island Organizations & Programs Losing Funding
Based on the lack of historical reference along with the dearth of vision, creativity or inspiration in some of these comments, it becomes clear why a vocal minority of folks feel the need for some far off bureaucrats and politicians to do the majority of their decision-making for them.

Naturally, when the current, imperium ex distantia, is all that they have known for so many years, some people became conditioned.  While unfortunate, this is completely normal and understandable. This compulsion to conserve the status quo and stymie progress, is forgivable. Admittedly, a more robust effort should be made to ease this fringe's anxiety. Thanking The Lord for small mercies, it will take a fair amount of time to turn and shrink this over-sized ship. As a result, while they may protest loudly, the overly conditioned among us should not, in reality, be unduly inconvenienced.

Those of us saddled with the debt would be grateful if folks would please excuse our mess while we are remodeling.
