I believe they'll make him look like a Victim with no ill intend.
He had good intend, he responded to people yelling at him, he might even bring up that he was already physically assaulted for his conduct (received punishment) and that his reputation and person already has been tarnished due to the current media exposure. He will pay a fine because they'll warrant that prison time would be over the top since he didn't hit the seal and well , because of the other reasons.
