General Plan approved despite fervent opposition
#37
If you look at a satellite view of the area almost all of it is in use. However in the initial planning for the homesteads the lower lots were allocated to farmers who intended to pursue cattle, while the upper lots vegetable matter. And, as such the land clearing practices lower down created parcels with wall to wall grass, while the vegetable farms higher up tended to leave a natural border along the roadside of their's. Also, for the same amount of return greenhouses of Cymbidium has a much smaller footprint than cattle. And, of course, once acquired the homesteading expectations didn't pass down with subsequent sales, so the initial push to clear the land expired. And still, look at the areal view.. in some places there's large farms behind that roadside veneer of natural forest.
