What I can't tell from the satellite or road view is how much of that is original versus reforested growth. Was the reforesting program popular in your experience? How much restoration work was done overall do you think and does the area look significantly different from either view compared to how things were before the state's restoration incentives?
The general opinion of state/county planning seems to vary wildly from mere ineffectual posturing to diabolical conspiracy plots, so was wondering about possible examples of it just simply working as intended, which your " these are the land uses that make our island what it is" seems to imply.
