Tam Hunt - PGV Statement

I suspected an incorrect statement above, from Tam, on where Hawaii gets its' gas, diesel and oil.

"Hawaii imports over 80% of its energy as crude oil, which is processed at the state's sole operational refinery—the Par Hawaii facility in Kapolei, Oahu. This crude comes primarily from Argentina, Libya, Nigeria, Brazil, Guyana, and Alaska. The refinery processes these imports into gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel."

I've either overlooked your quoted passage in the link provided or it isn't there. In any case, the dashboard at the link to follow shows Argentina at 48% and South Korea 24% of total fuel imports.  The majority of fuel used in Hawaii is aviation gas, and that is primarily what the refinery at Kapolei produces.   The large percentage from South Korea must be for automotive gasoline.

.. A good read on Tam's take of Hawaii's new HB 1728, now Act 209, signed into law on July 8th: (Greggor co-introduced this bill. Did he ever mention it to any of you? Get your take on it? Involve you?)

How HB 1728 opens the door to government over-reach on watch catchment | by Tam Hunt | Jul, 2026 | Medium

I see this concern as alarmism.  Who the hell will be going around inspecting your catchment tank?   The gubment doesn't have the manpower or desire to do so.
