In any case, the dashboard at the link to follow shows Argentina at 48% and South Korea 24% of total fuel imports. The majority of fuel used in Hawaii is aviation gas, and that is primarily what the refinery at Kapolei produces. The large percentage from South Korea must be for automotive gasoline.

I also could not find any source of the Dude's quote myself either on the link he provided.
If you click on the gray bar to the right of South Korea of your own link, it spells out what we import from South Korea for you:
Of the 24% of imported fuels to Hawaii from South Korea, Year to Date thru June 2026 the breakdown is:
Jet Fuel:
75.3% of total fuels imported from SK
4,350,109 BBLS
Gasoline:
18.9%
1,091,668 BBLS
Blending Components:
5.3%
307,265 BBLS
ULSD:
.5%
28,886 BBLS
Do not confuse the terms of a barrel of crude oil for a barrel of refined product. It takes about 12 barrels of oil to produce one barrel of jet fuel. The refinery at Kapolei produces a small fraction of Hawaii's jet fuel needs.

Yeah, I guess you're right. HPD is too busy tracking down who stole someone's cat in Kona. Nothing to see here folks.
