Punatang - Ok, so then you meant The Consensus Reality of The Louder Voices on Punaweb. I thought maybe you had some objective reality figgaz to back up the thin slice bit. I'm not sure Punaweb's top handful of posters comprises "the electorate", no matter how you slice it.
Well, there's like 4k ballots in State House District 4 Democratic primaries, and majority of those are in HPP, so some of the top posters are pretty good sample group of those that have to be won over. While I sympathize with the war on consensus reality (as this burn-it-all-down-for-imaginary-symbols-of-wealth neoliberal gestalt is a drag), y'all are going to have to come up with a better narrative than fear mongering over County Council coming for people's trucks, or the State for their catchment tanks.
I mean, when claims are getting fact-checked by leilanidude of all people, the message has clearly gone off the rails. Of course 90% of all Hawaii's energy doesn't come via Hormuz, not even 90% of jet fuel comes via that route. Curtis had a good breakdown of the numbers, back when the strait shutdown began:
"Hawaii's total jet fuel demand runs approximately 600–700 million gallons per year. The PAR Hawaii refinery supplies somewhere in the range of 35–45% of total jet fuel consumed, while direct imports of aviation fuel cover the remaining 55–65%."
While the vast majority of what jet fuel imported is from South Korea via Hormuz, that's not the same as "90% of Hawaii's energy", which is just the sort of overly broad and inaccurate claims one would expect from an AI amalgamation of primary sources.
While AI allows one to put out tons of stuff each day, the value of all that expelled material may be not worth sifting through for the nuggets, or raisins, or chocolate covered mac nuts, if you will.
