The ocean did exactly what many feared, and promptly filled the channel back in.

Just to be clear, the ocean had nothing to do with the refilling of the void left by the dredging. Absolutely nothing. 

The amount of filling in over such a short period of time can not be attributed to being carried in by the ocean. If that was the case, if that much sand was moving through the ocean on a regular basis, then all the bays all the way to Punaluu would be choked, and growing more so on a daily basis, with more and more sand.

But, ok, if it was...

Where would all that sand be coming from? Are you suggesting the 2018 flow front, the coastal front, is eroding that fast? And eroding not to rubble, but all the way down to sand? Literally, making mountains of sand daily? If so why is the newly emplaced coastline not receding in a remarkable way? Why hasn't Kapoho been eroded back to its preexisting coastline? Why have the Wai'opae Tidepools not been reestablished? And why has the coastline at Pohoiki not continued to grow after the sand refilled the dredged void?

Just considering the purely physical aspects..

It is impossible to have accumulated that much sand in that short of a time from the ocean unless there's a source of sand to feed the process. And that's black sand, not made by erosion but by molten lava shattering when it is quenched. But there is no molten lava.. no quenching going on. Think it through. Without critically considering what is being said, sure it sounds good, but when one actually thinks about it, how is that happening? What's the process that made the sand, and put it in the ocean, at such a rate as to fill the dredged void in a matter of weeks? Even the active flow back in 2018 took longer than that to make the beach in the first place. So.. you say the ocean filled in the bay, and I am curious.. you allow your mind to believe this.. but how does your mind account for its beliefs?
