Maybe there is some other principle other than profitability that might need to be the primary measure for essential services...

Especially the delusion that capitalism works for the common good of all.. coupled with the expectation that our political leaders have morals.. and all we're left with is a crock of kūkae.
That was the trick.. our "founding fathers" expected those that participated in government to do so with moral conviction, right?
