He says the threat of AI being used to create a bioweapon or cyberattack is real right now so there's an urgent need for regulation to create safe guards. He dismisses the concern that regulation would "slow down" its development as false. Gates believes all those dreaded data centers will be built whether we like it or not. He also believes many jobs will be lost, more than AI creates.
I was slightly distracted by his consistent fidgeting when the video showed his body from the side and figured he was either overcaffeinated or suffering from an essential tremor.
AI says it's the behavioral habit "stimming". Gates considers himself to be autistic.
